Oxford Professional Development Series: Mental Health Crisis, Stress Management, & De-escalation | Now offered via Zoom

In partnership with Highlands Health System, Bradford presents “Mental Health Crisis, Stress Management, & De-escalation”, an online education session with Retired Chief Deputy and Mental Health Officer, Jon Garlick, LPC.

In this session, participants will:

  • Gain an understanding of the mental health crisis facing the Nation and State of Alabama
  • Understand the basics of mental illness
  • Understand the difference between stress and PTSD & learn how to mitigate the effects of both
  • Understand the skills necessary to de-escalate a person in an emotional crisis

The Steps We Take: A Review of the 12 Steps for Recovery Allies

Presented by: Seth Sherwin, Administrator at A Reprieve for Men, Turner Griffin, Resident Assistant at A Reprieve for Men, & Jennifer Gibson, Bradford Alumni Program Coordinator

In honor of National Recovery Month, the Bradford Alumni Program is partnering with A Reprieve for Men to present an overview of the 12 Steps for those who support someone in recovery. Hosted by A Reprieve for Men’s Seth Sherwin, Administrator and Turner Griffin, Resident Assistant, and Bradford’s Alumni Coordinator, Jennifer Gibson, this free online event will provide a walk through the 12 Steps and include tips and anecdotes to better understand their importance in recovery.

Bradford Health Services Family Program

Recovery is hard, and the disease of addiction affects the family in ways that few other conditions do. Bradford offers a multi-day, multi-session Family program to help you better understand the disease your loved one is battling. Currently, this program is offered via Zoom and is free of charge.
